Ronald James Holmberg was born in Alhambra, California on 6.13.42. A casualty of cancer on 1.17.02. The bout was brief, but the life ample and rich. He spent his youth in Duarte and at the Colorado River. He moved to Pomona in 62, to Kamiseya in 68, to Misawa in 71, to Atsugi in 74, to Glen Burnie in 79, to Chigasaki in 85, to Laurel in 88. He will move to Santa Cruz in 02. Ron was a cryptologist, a linguist, a genealogist, and a perfectionist. He was a landscapist, a horticulturist, more specifically an orchidist. He was a japanist, an artist. He was a spinner, photographer, painter, and potter, a thrower, a trimmer, a glazer, a teacher. Not much of an extruder. He was a sailor, a senior chief, a swimmer, a sunbather, a skier, an editor, a commuter and computer. He was a pepper cook and eater. Ron was a brother and a father, a son, uncle and husband. He was a friend. And he is a friend. He is a husband, an uncle, a son, a brother. He is a father. Above all, Ron is a keeper.
